3... 2... 1... Relaunch!

Welcome to the newly rebuilt WarGamma site!  After four years, this was a long overdue upgrade.  I'm still adding pics and fixing a few things, but, as you can see it's an all-new look!  Now we can do all the cool stuff a REAL webstore does, like having sales, coupon codes, and sorting through the catalog to show you the stuff you want to see.

Also, let's face it, all this time my photos were really lacking in quality.  I can't tell you how many times my customers at conventions would say that the models looked SO much better in person than on the site.  I agree.  Over the years I'd done much experimentation with indoor photography.  I've always had a decent soft box, but for some reason I kept trying to jerry-rig cheap consumer-grade lights, attempting to improve the dull, grainy photos with Photoshop filters and various backdrops..  Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it really didn't...  woof!

What can I say?  I'm usually thinking more about sculpting than photography.  But now I've seen the light-- literally!  There truly is no substitute for super-bright, professional white lights.  Flood that model with as many lumens as possible, and things look a whole lot more detailed and accurate.  I'm steadily replacing the weaker old photos with better ones.

Oh, and did I mention there are new models?  Quite a few actually!  Some major new figures (both ready and in the works), new base styles, and some new terrain as well.

Finally, we've streamlined things in the office and stock room quite a lot.  With all the new products coming out, we've really had to!  By reorganizing our orders system, and streamlining our mailing lists and publicity procedures, we'll be able to give you better service, more timely site updates, and inform you when the new stuff you (hopefully) want to see is being released!

The second half of 2014 is gearing up to be a big time for WarGamma.  The highlights include:

  • A Kickstarter campaign (yes, we're selling out too!)
  • Integrating a high-res 3-D printer in the shop
  • A BIG model, the biggest we've ever done!
  • Possibly even a preview of OUR OWN GAME by year's end!!

So I want to close this ramble with a big 'WELCOME' to my new visitors, and a sincere and heartfelt 'Thank You' to my past and longstanding customers!  Some of you have been shopping here since 2010. Thanks for hanging in there despite the cheesy website, sometimes slow shipping, and very slow tricking of new releases.  Thanks for seeing the gaming and fun potential in WarGamma minis!

Very sincerely,

James Hakola
